Fadillah gets update on upcoming APGH conference

PUTRAJAYA: The organiser of the highly anticipated Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference and Exhibition (APGH) 2024 paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof here recently.

The courtesy visit to Fadillah who is also Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation was led by Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni.

The courtesy visit held on May 2 marks a significant step towards fostering collaboration in advancing Malaysia’s green hydrogen and energy transition efforts.

Discussions during the courtesy visit centred on the upcoming APGH 2024 conference.

The organiser, Borneo Business Connect Sdn Bhd emphasised their unwavering commitment to accelerating Malaysia’s green hydrogen and energy transition goals.

They outlined plans to facilitate knowledge sharing, forge strategic partnerships, and showcase the latest advancements in technology, innovation, and sustainable solutions for green hydrogen production and utilisation.

With Malaysia’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality, Fadillah said initiatives like the APGH 2024 are critical in driving innovation and attracting investment in green hydrogen.

“We actively seek international collaboration to accelerate our transition to a low-carbon economy, as hydrogen holds immense potential as the future of clean energy,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dr Hazland said through the Post-Covid Development Strategy, (PCDS) 2030, Sarawak is actively pursuing initiatives like hydrogen development, renewable energy sources, carbon capture and storage, and sustainable aviation fuel.

“These efforts directly contribute to reducing our carbon footprint and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. At APGH 2024, our invited international experts will share their global insights to add to our collective knowledge and skills base, focusing on the hydrogen market,” he said.

 As preparations for APGH 2024 continue, the organiser remains committed to working closely with Malaysian authorities, industry players, and international partners to ensure the success of the conference and its lasting impact on Malaysia’s sustainable development journey.

 The Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference and Exhibition 2024 (APGH 2024), organised by Borneo Business Connect Sdn Bhd in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability and bolstered by support from Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak), is poised to draw a diverse and international audience.
