Kuching ranks among world’s cleanest cities for air quality, second only to Sydney

KUCHING, Jan 11: It may be time to take a deep breath of fresh air outside, with Kuching listed as having one of the cleanest air quality in the world, according to hourly air quality rankings by IQAir.

IQAir, a Swiss technology company which tracks air quality worldwide live, showed that as at 11.53am today, Kuching ranked second with its air quality index (AQI) at 13, just a spot below Sydney, Australia which recorded an AQI of 11.

Japan’s trading firm Marubeni commits to sustainable aviation fuel investment in Sarawak

KUCHING, Dec 19: Japanese trading company, Marubeni Corporation, has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and other green initiatives in Sarawak.

According to a news report by TVS, this commitment was shared with Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan during a meeting held in Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday (Dec 18).

Sarawak Metro: Japan’s Yamanashi Prefecture looks to state’s ART system for hydrogen tram inspiration

KUCHING (Dec 16): The Yamanashi Prefectural government’s plans to use a hydrogen-powered trackless tram to shuttle tourists to Mount Fuji in Japan is yet another indication of how Sarawak’s adoption of the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) system is attracting greater global attention, said Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Metro).

Sarawak Metro chief executive officer Mazli Mustaffa said a small team from the Yamanashi Prefectural government visited Kuching several months ago to learn more about the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project.

Abg Jo: Sarawak, Eneos to jointly develop clean hydrogen network

KUCHING (Dec 16): The Sarawak government and Eneos Corporation (Eneos) are strengthening their collaboration to jointly develop a competitive clean hydrogen production network in the form of methylcyclohexane (MCH).

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said the joint development of the hydrogen supply chain in MCH form is expected to reduce the cost of hydrogen production.
